Good News! We are planning to have this event.
Central Illinois is in Phase 3 of the State's Restore Plan. Outdoor recreation activities are permitted in groups of 10 or fewer with social distancing.
To keep within the order we will setting up start times over a 3 hour period between 8 AM and 11 AM so we can keep runners separated on the trail and make sure that only small groups (under 10)congregate around the start line. (Registration link) Your start time will be based on when you registered. Start times will be staggered by 2-3 minutes apart depending how many want to run.
When you arrive you check the registration roster and get your timing tag near the start line (maintain social distancing). When you are ready to start, you approach the start line while maintaining social distancing and wait for the starter to let you go. Your chip time starts when you start.
We will mark the trail with signage and orange caution tape making it easy to find your way. New this year is a slight change in the first mile that takes you up to a picturesque pond on the east side of the farm property. Otherwise the route is the same as last year. Here's a link to the route. There will a "grab and go" water station about half way through the route. We'll have small water bottles for you to grab and take with you. Look for a trash can in the next quarter mile for you to discard the bottle. There will be water bottles at the finish line as well.
The 10K runners after finishing the 5K route will make their way back to the start line and run the 5K again. The transition time between the 5K finish line and the 2nd start time will be included in your over all time. We will publish your time for each segment.
When you finish, you can collect your finishing giveaways at the brewery and enjoy the brewery's farm ground while maintaining social distancing. You can buy more beer if you like and hang out as long as you maintain social distancing. Its a huge property and there is plenty of room and fresh-air to keep you safe and allow for social distancing from others.
NOTE: There will be no race day registration. (Registration link) You have to register online by Thursday June 11th at noon to be included in this event. You have to be registered by June 5th to be guaranteed a tshirt.
You earn your shirt by participating and can pick it up after the event along with a can of Rolling Meadows beer. We'll post the results online at RunSignUp.com and update frequently so you can see your finish times from your cell phones shortly after you finish the race. Awards can be picked at the event if you are around at noon, otherwise winners can pick up their awards at the my office at their convenience the following week. Awards are for overall male and female in both distances as well as first place in 10 year age brackets for male and female.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
